The basement fitness center was well equipped with a Peloton, a tred and two ellipticals. It was actually way more pleasant than most basement fitness centers, and was cleaned every day. I usually ran into the cleaning people. There are TVs, a good amount of weights and bells, and mirrored walls. I go to the gym at all the hotels I stay at and this one was a solid B+ for just being clean and feeling functional even though it's smallish and in a basement. The rooms are very nicely equipped with amenities and a good size. I appreciated the many plugs around the room, and that there was good counter space/places to put my makeup bags etc. I thought that the decor was very updated feeling and the integrated reading lights into the bed headboard were helpful. The rooftop bar, while no longer called The Anchovy Social, was pretty vibrant and had nice views. There is also a lobby bar which is open happy hour type hours, and the lobby has comfy chairs and is a nice place to meet. The Metro is less than a block away and we used it frequently. Small eateries are nearby in the Navy Yard (they have a Foxtrot across the street) and we even walked to all the Wharf restaurants (a must do--I particularly loved Ilili). Huge shout out to the cleaning crew--everywhere I went, they were friendly, seemed to be doing an excellent job, and were discreet. Our room always seemed to be cleaned at the right time while we were gone, they didn't keep knocking on the door asking when we wanted our room cleaned, and all the public areas always seemed so well-kept. I'm a bit of a clean freak, so this is important to me!

The brunch selection was nice and the food was WAY better than expected. Saved money and time eating in house compared to trying to catch a brunch reservation in the city. The room was cleaner than clean and housekeeping was on top of keeping the room in order; I greatly appreciated that. The Rooftop Lounge was super pretty and open. Would recommend this location to any solo traveler or couple looking for a romantic getaway. The hotel truly suits any visitor.

Love how clean and modern the hotel. Staff super friendly and the location was excellent so close to restaurants and amenities. Navy yard waterfront is steps away and is so beautiful. Short Uber ride to capital hall where all the capital attractions are. Would stay at the Thompson hotel again when I return, and would recommend to everyone! Read a lot of reviews and decided on the Thompson as it was luxury for the right price without compromising any luxury!

The room was nice -- comfy bed although the pillows were too flat for me. Nice bathroom. There was no breakfast and the coffee in the room was quite weak. I would expect a Hyatt to have coffee available in the lobby, but they did not. Thankfully there is a Starbucks a block away. Staff was friendly. Excellent gym. Walking distance to Nationals Park & Audi Field, lots of restaurants & bars. Metro is one block away to get anywhere else.

The hotel is located in a quiet area and it has a luxurious feel to it. Breakfast was not included but that's the case in most hotels in DC. You can eat in the hotel though at moderate to high prices. Choice is limited to the "a la carte" menu. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel because it was convenient for the first days.
